Michelle Miller is a NCIDQ certified and state of Florida licensed designer who is highly accomplished in various areas of the design industry including residential, retail, commercial, and entertainment design. After graduating from Philadelphia University with a BS in Interior Design, Michelle was hired by Philadelphia’s prestigious Walnut Street Theatre. She worked on several theatrical productions and this experience influenced Michelle’s style as she gained insight on the ability of design to impact on a grand and dramatic scale. Michelle left the theater to join IKEA Inc, as their corporate Promotional Designer. Michelle designed numerous promotional campaigns and store room vignettes which earned her both corporate and national recognition. Michelle’s work with IKEA was featured in Business Week while the IKEA design model became a national trend. Michelle’s team was also responsible for opening IKEA’s first west coast store in Burbank. When QVC was making the transition from small electronic retailer to national retailing/television giant, Michelle was brought on board to oversee the visual direction for their on-air sets. Her team brought a unified design brand to all sets of the network’s shows. It was here that Michelle started various relationships with celebrity icons that continue to this day. Home Shopping Network then recruited Michelle to Florida to take on the task of helping to resurrect the company’s on-air look. Michelle developed a team of designers and stylists to achieve what can only be described as a complete metamorphosis of HSN’s outmoded and conservative look. In fact HSN’s current on-air look still reflects direct styling cues implemented by Michelle’s team over six years ago.
