ASID Announces Dates for Annual Student Design Competition

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 19, 2013) | The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) today launched the 2013 ASID Student Design Competition. This year’s competition, Shelter - supporting the needs of a community in crisis, challenges design students to demonstrate design excellence on the basis of humanitarianism, research, innovation, sustainability and universal design, and presentation.

The design competition runs through midnight EST on Sun., January 12, 2014 and calls for insightful and creative interior design solutions for converting existing, vacant buildings into temporary shelters that address and support the health, safety, and welfare of a community impacted by natural disaster and economic hardship.

The winning entry will receive a $2,000 cash prize and will be highlighted at the ASID@NeoCon booth during NeoCon 2014 and featured in ICON magazine.

The competition is open to all design students currently enrolled in an accredited interior design program. Full descriptions and entry information can be accessed at:
