Hamptons Dream Residence
Location
In 2005, I had the opportunity to build a home from foundation to flowers. The principle features include a main floor master suite, home office, and options for entertaining large or small groups.
The neutral color palette of the public spaces varies in texture, pattern, and fabric. Furnishings ranged from a few select antiques to contemporary and modern, always including surprising bits of whimsy.
Lighting in layers (and on dimmers) helps to maintain total light control, creating any desired atmosphere.
Special attention was paid to normally underutilized space in bedrooms, dining and living rooms with the elimination of unneeded furnishings and the addition of optional uses.
The landscape surrounding the home is equally important as the interior. An elegant entrance to the grounds establishes the setting. At the rear of the home, an upper deck, the length of the entire house, provided outdoor dining and living space.
Great care was taken to maintain elegance, comfort, and a welcoming sensibility.
