This one-day course will introduce the participants to building and fire codes and ways to determine which codes affect their projects. The different classifications of occupancy will be reviewed and the importance of proper occupancy classification will be explained. The testing procedures for interior finish and floor finish will be reviewed as well as the importance of understanding test results as applied to a specific project. Also, the test criteria for fabrics and upholstered furniture will be presented with information on evaluating code requirements and test results. The importance of understanding code requirements and correctly applying these requirements will be emphasized.
