A masculine, contemporary home for evening entertaining. (studio A2, LLC) / Atlanta Private Residence
Inspired by the exterior sitework, two story Crab Orchard stone walls anchor the lobbies and the interior finish palettes. “Juliet” balconies split the surrounding walls of Noisette Limestone and Lacewood wood veneer. Rosso Verona marble, textured glass panels and floors of Jura Beige and Jura Gray limestone provide the accents in this commercial lobby in Atlanta. A new chapter was written for this vintage 1910 library in Greeneville, TN by renovating the original building and tripling its size with classrooms, offices, window seats, and book stacks, separated from the original building by a circulation spine. Faded book jackets and historical references inspired the palette of paints, carpets, rift oak wood panels, and Burlington Slate floors. Custom furniture with integral power and data blended old and new and created multiple varied destinations for studying. Project completed while with tvsdesign. / Tusculum College Library
Site constraints created the forceful mitigating geometries of the entry lobby of this urban corporate campus building in Atlanta. Technology driven tenants inspired the edge-lit etched glass walls, glass and steel stairs, perforated stainless steel panels and terrazzo floors contrasted by Sapele wood veneer. The client’s request for “Light, bright, airy and warm but easy to maintain” was fulfilled with the design of this 30 seat institutional dining facility by maximizing the view to the exterior courtyard and choosing low maintenance finishes in a warm palette inspired by the colors of the exterior limestone site walls. Terrazzo floor, white solid surface countertops and a chemically etched mirror wall to visually extend and reflect light back into the space, all contribute to this clean, well organized, easily maintained interior.
