Today's interior designers are challenged by finding the underlying causes for why humans respond to different spaces in different ways. This research paper explores the environmental factors that influence people’s perception of space and how designers can more positively impact human feelings in the physical environment.  It provides tools to help designers evaluate perceptions, meanings and definitions surrounding the design of a space.
