Yale R. Burge Competition Application



Yale R. Burge Competition is open to all students in their final year of undergraduate study enrolled in at least a three-year program of interior design. The competition is designed to encourage students to seriously plan their portfolios.

Dear Applicant,

There are four parts to this application. In order to complete part three, you will need to submit the following: a brief description of your portfolio (max. 250 words) and a bulleted list of the components of your portfolio presentation. In part four, you will need to submit a brief biographical statement (max. 100 words). It is highly recommended that you prepare these pieces in advance, and then copy and paste them into the appropriate text box in the application form. You must provide all the necessary identifying information in order to submit your application.

Submit Your Application


By clicking "Submit" below you agree to apply to the Yale R. Burge Competition. You also acknowledge that the information submitted is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You have just completed the first part of your application process. To complete your application, please email the following items in one email to foundation@asid.org:

  • Portfolio Presentation (such as a slide presentation, PowerPoint or Keynote presentation, HTML or Flash presentation). Each item must be clearly marked with the last four digits of the student's Social Security Number and a number that denotes its sequence in the presentation (e.g., 1, 2, 3 or 1 of 12, 2 of 12, etc.).
    The applicant's name or school must not be visible either on or within the portfolio. The validity of the jury's evaluation is based on the total anonymity of the competitors.


  • Photo/Headshot (High resolution 300 dpi)
    May be used for marketing purposes if an award is granted.
