About

David started Ashfield Hansen Design with Barbara Ashfield in 2005. David and Barbara come from diverse, but complimentary backgrounds. David was raised in Colorado and moved to San Francisco in 1986 where he began a career in Retail, eventually leading to a career in Window Display and Visual Merchandising, working for such high profile retailers as, FAO Schwartz, San Francisco Centre and Bally of Switzerland. In 1998 David transitioned into the Kitchen and Bath industry, heightening his interest in interior design. After returning to school for a long stint he ultimately expanded his repertoire to include interiors and started AHD. AHD has won awards from the California Peninsula Chapter of ASID. In 2007 they won an award for a Superior Retail Space and in 2008 won a Gold award for a Bath transformation. AHD believes in the strength of the community and regularly volunteers their time with organizations such as DIFFA (Dining by Design), Creavtivity Explored, The Stop AIDS Project and Habitat For Humanity.
