About
With over 30 years of experience, award winning designer David M. Plante blends sophistication with comfort to produce inviting interiors ranging from classic to modern to contemporary. "Rich colors balanced against necessary neutrals; a deft and educated sensibility molds line, rhythm, and scale to capture tranquility, excitement, and harmony..." David has worked with some of the preeminent figures in the design world: John Saladino, Stephen Mallory, and the late Robert S. Hart. These luminaries instilled the knowledge of and regard for sensitive color palettes, classic upholstery, expert hand-crafted techniques, custom fixtures, fine antiques, and quality furniture design. Early in his career, David realized that expertly designed environments were only possible by utilizing professional business practices. He prides himself on forthright communication with his clients and practices "full disclosure" for all transactions. From redesigning a client's favorite room or retrofitting a luxury sailing schooner, to his current work on a beautiful Connecticut Colonial, David skillfully manages each project regardless of size.

Design Gallery
Los Angeles, CA/Century City - Living/Dining Room
This project won 1st PLACE in the 2008 ASID/LA – EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN COMPETITION for RESIDENTIAL UNDER 2,500 Sq. Ft. A custom designed oval rug creates a seating in the round. The furniture floats away from the walls, allowing each piece to be viewed as a sculpture. This composition gives the room a sense of movement and space. On the wall hang two framed Art Deco appliqués that once hung in an elevator vestibule of a Miami Beach hotel. The floor lamp is an Edgar Brandt reproduction. The pony wall, that once divided the upper dining room from the lower living room, was removed and replaced with a bronze railing reminiscent of an old luxury liner. / Los Angeles, CA/Century City - Living/Dining Room
Los Angeles, CA/Century City - Master Bedroom
This project won 1st PLACE in the 2008 ASID/LA – EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN COMPETITION for RESIDENTIAL UNDER 2,500 Sq. Ft. The walls of this room are crackle glazed China red with a dark taupe/brown bole. The glass panels behind the bed slide open. Behind them is the client's treadmill. She can open the panels and watch TV while exercising. / Los Angeles, CA/Century City - Master Bedroom
Beverly Hills, CA - Study
The walls are painted periwinkle blue. The curtains are in a brown ultrasuede. Behind the curtains hang soft sheer scrims. From the ceiling hangs a Calder inspired mobile. A custom ostrich feather lampshade, dyed periwinkle blue, sits perfectly atop an iridescent Murano glass lamp. The lamp sits atop a vintage acrylic desk. / Beverly Hills, CA - Study
Beverly Hills, CA - Study
This project won 1st PLACE in the 2008 ASID/LA – EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN COMPETITION for SHOWCASE HOUSE. The walls are covered in hand painted canvas with a damask pattern. The antiques range from the 17th through the 19th century. / Beverly Hills, CA - Study
Beverly Hills, CA - Kitchen
This project won 1st PLACE in the 2008 ASID/LA – EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN COMPETITION for SHOWCASE HOUSE. This kitchen was completely renovated, but we kept it looking just like it did in the 1920's. The antique stove has been retrofitted to work great in today's day and age. On the floor are cork tiles, which are very good on the legs and back and help to avoid items from breaking should they fall off the counters. / Beverly Hills, CA - Kitchen
