About
My first love of design came from a family trip to Monticello, Virginia at the age of 11 and ever since then, it is the only thing I have ever wanted to do. I went to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa to study interior design. I also enrolled in a design abroad program in Copenhagen where I was introduced to the Scandinavian approach to design. I returned to Drake to finish my schooling with a major in Interior Design and minors in Art History and Psychology. I was eager to get into my field and moved to Denver, Co. to pursue my dream. I worked in various sub-fields of my profession to hone my skills before venturing out on my own after several years. I have sat for and passed the NCIDQ exam and am currently a member of ASID. I periodically attend continuing educational seminars to keep current in my field. I enjoyed several years of partnership with a builder where we designed additions and whole houses. I am used to the submittal processes of building departments. I have worked with all of the building trades people and have good relationships with them. After some 26 years in the business, I still love what I do!
Services Offered
I offer clients a fresh perspective by thinking outside the box. With space planning, I can arrange their environment for better interaction with family or co-workers and create new ways to store, organize or display collected treasures. I like my clients to feel at home in their environment and tailor my design to their preferences in style and color. Working around what a client has and enhancing it with the right colors, fabrics and accessories is what my business is all about. My clients appreciate that fact and are happy when I can blend what they have with new pieces or rearranging the space they have to work better for their family or office. I like working directly with clients and provide a professional, yet relaxed working relationship with them. I meet with clients in the space, determine what is needed and bring ideas and samples to them. I provide drawings for space planning, and can submit to building departments as necessary. I enjoy all sizes of projects and enjoy the diversity that my profession offers.

Fee Structures
My fee structure is based on each project. I enjoy all sizes of jobs ranging from color consultation, staging homes for resale or additions to existing homes. I also work with builders, drawing up plans for remodels, most recently for an office space that employed 50 people. I do not charge for an initial consultation. I view this as a chance of getting to know each other, what the expectations are, and the scope of work. At that time we can discuss an hourly fee or a cost plus fee. I have worked with several clients recently that have hired a designer for the first time and have been quite happy with the service I provided and have expressed that I offer good value.

Remodeled kitchen in Southmoor Vista
This kitchen was enlarged and completely rearranged to provide a better workspace for husband, wife and daughter. All walls, electrical, cabinets and floors were redone. / Remodeled kitchen in Southmoor Vista
Living/music room in Cherry Creek North
Using both antiques and contemporary artwork, I achieved a cohesive look for the now often used living area. / Living/music room in Cherry Creek North
Guest bedroom in Steamboat Springs Condo
The client wanted a mountain ranch theme and I achieved this by having a local artist paint the beds a barn red with bears and mountains on the headboard and night stand. The bedcovers are quilts which ranchers would have used and the bear/twig lamp and artwork pull the room together. / Guest bedroom in Steamboat Springs Condo
Powder Bath in Cherry Creek North
This bathroom was completely outdated with dark green floral, metallic wallpaper. I freshened the look and brought in an art deco element with the border and painted the tall ceiling a darker color to give it a more intimate feeling. The artwork is all black and white photos. / Powder Bath in Cherry Creek North
Greenwood Village Foyer
The client was looking for a very narrow piece to use as an entry table. This was accomplished by finding the perfect piece in one showroom and the perfect mirror in another. It gives a welcoming warmth to this family home. / Greenwood Village Foyer
