Leslie Shankman-Cohn, ASID

President, Eclectic Interiors, Inc.

Leslie Shankman-Cohn, ASID, CAPS, is the president of Eclectic Interiors, Inc. located in Memphis, TN. She is also principal of eo designs, an interior design firm that specializes in custom designed furniture; space planning; furnishings and finishes specifications; universal design; “Aging in Style”; and sustainable design issues.

Ms. Shankman-Cohn is a Registered Interior Designer by the State of Tennessee; a Professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID); and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). She is a Past- President of the Tennessee Chapter of ASID, and a board member of the Tennessee Interior Design Coalition (TIDC) which is dealing with legislative issues. Leslie also sits on the advisory board of Stir Magazine, a division of Sherwin Williams Paint Company. Besides being on the boards of two local non-profit environmental groups, she has been appointed to the ASID’s national committee on “Aging in Place”, which is setting the standard for the society’s platform on designing for the aging population.

Ms. Shankman-Cohn was awarded the 2006 Kenneth C Kimbrough Award of Excellence by the Tennessee Chapter of ASID. She has previously received the chapter’s 2005 Designer of the Year; is listed in the “Barons Who’s Who in Interior Design, 2000-2001 International Edition” ; the “Manchester Who’s Who 2004-2005 Edition” ; and the “Continental Who’s Who Premier Member 2005-2006 Edition”.

Among her many awards, she received the first-place Gold Award for her entry in the Tennessee ASID Design Competition in 1999; and has won the coveted 2003 ADEX Silver Award from Design Journal Magazine for design excellence for her custom designed “Sasha Bed”; and the 2002 TN Chapter Community Service Award. Additionally, her work is featured in the recently released book, Spectacular Homes of Tennessee.

In addition to presenting continuing education programs to other professionals, writing articles for different publications, and giving lectures to various groups throughout the nation, Leslie has been interviewed on TV, radio, and her work have been featured in local & national newspapers and magazines.
