Owner, Bonneville Design
Lisa Bonneville, FASID, is an interior designer and principal of Bonneville Design in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass. She received a BFA in graphic design from Michigan State University. She completed interior design studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and the New England School of Art and Design, and studied architectural drafting at the Boston Architectural College before achieving professional NCIDQ certification in 1989. She was the 2006 recipient of an Honorary Master’s Degree in Interior Design from Boston Architectural College.
Established in 1981, Bonneville Design is an award winning independent interior design firm that serves residential, business, healthcare and retail clientele. In 2007, Bonneville received citations from the Massachusetts House of Representatives and Senate, and from Governor Deval Patrick. In June 2007 she was honored as the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce Small Business Person of the Year by the Manchester-by-the-Sea Board of Selectmen. She is a charter member of the ADA Advisory Council in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass.where she initiated the annual ACCESS AWARD, recognizing businesses that make their buildings ADA-accessible to the public. In 2007, Bonneville was elected to serve as the Chair of the Board of the Boston Architectural College. She is the first woman and first interior designer to serve in that capacity in its 118-year history. A long-time member and active volunteer in the American Society of Interior Designers, she was made a Fellow of the Society in 2006. She represented ASID on the NFPA Technical Committee for Furnishings and Contents from 2000 to 2007.
Lisa Bonneville has published her design projects and numerous articles on professional practice, locally and nationally. In 1997, she authored a 250-page manual entitled Your Design Process: Identify It – Organize It – Profit by It, which she presented locally and at national conventions for the American Society of Interior Designers and the International Facilities Management Association. In 2007, she authored the book, The Safe Home, Designing for Safety in the Home, published by the American Society of Interior Designers.
