Greta W. Siwiec, Allied ASID
Coastal Design & Decor, Inc.
North Middletown, New Jersey
Project type:
Residential

About
Greta has designed and furnished a mixed-bag of residential interiors, as well as some very unusual projects. Design work down south has included marina, golf, and resort community residences and numerous model homes; Suburban homes and adult communities in New Jersey have included both elegant, traditional interiors as well as sleek, fresh, modern interpretations, and work in New York has involved both space-conscious apartments as well as globally-influenced office space. Always inspired by the unusual, Greta has undertaken a variety of design challenges. Government projects have included the designing and implementation of high-security conference suites and generals’ quarters. For the Military the unusual was a 90-foot long rail car conversion with a deadline of five weeks. One very distinctive residential project called for an indoor/outdoor stream running through the foundation of the home and under an interior staircase leading to a fish tank. Graduating with a BFA from the New York School of Interior Design, Greta was a member of the NY Metro Chapter ASID and a contributing writer to the chapter newsletter. For several years now she has been a member of the NJ ASID Chapter and is revving up for a well-connected year with her local chapter. Meaningful volunteer work for Greta was acting as Committee Chairman for the renovation of Avalon House, a safe haven for women and children of domestic violence in Williamsburg, Virginia. It was important to offer my service to those who needed their environment to nurture them. Design Honors include two awards for Interior Design Excellence and Design Cohesiveness to a Target Market by the Peninsula Home Builders’ Association, Virginia. Greta has been guest speaker to many audiences through the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and was called to speak at the Best Practices Forum for the furniture retailer Ethan Allen in 2006.
Services Offered
Greta Siwiec is the owner of Greta Siwiec Coastal Design & Décor, Inc., a full service interior design firm located, where else, but ‘on the coast’ in Middletown, New Jersey. Servicing a dynamic clientele in New Jersey, the New York metropolitan area, and other great coastal destinations, Greta has practiced design for over twenty years. Young at heart and innovative in her thinking, Greta’s firm specializes in complete design services for residential interiors, with emphasis on new construction and renovations. From space planning to finish and color selections; from window coverings to finding the right spot for that wow accessory, the total environment is understood. She simply ‘gets it’ for you. Working with her own team of talented professionals or with the clients' own contractors, Greta always acts as an advocate for her clients to assure that their projects are completed on schedule and reflect their personal style…. even when they aren’t sure what their ‘own personal style’ is. “I educate the client throughout the process, always explaining why this or why that.” Greta believes the design process should be gratifying for the client as well as carefree. “The whole process should be exciting.”
