About
Louisiana is a practice act state and requires a license to practice interior design. I am a registered interior designer and hold an NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification)Certificate. I have been practicing interior design including kitchen and bath design in Alabama, Florida and Louisiana for 25 years. The majority of my experience for the past 8 years has been commercial design and furniture specification. My Bachelor of Interior Design degree is from Louisiana State University. The LSU interior design program has enjoyed many years as a FIDER accredited program. FIDER is the Foundation for Interior Design Education and Research and is the national body governing the quality of interior design curriculum.
Services Offered
Jhf Design Studio will assist you in bringing your vision to reality. It is my pleasure to offer my expertice in residential and corporate interior design for your project needs. From the initial consultation until the final artwork and window treatments are installed, I will be there to help you select furnishings and finishes as well as oversee installation processes. Your preferences will always be my concern in guiding you through your project. You will receive detailed drawings when applicable as well as finish schedules and furniture specification sheets. I use AutoCAD to generate floor plans and elevations. Sometimes all you need is a color confirmation or freshing up of a particular area. I will be glad to help you with those issues too. I use contemporary and eclectic yet elegant styles. Clean and crisp. I do occassionally have traditional elements in my designs - important family pieces, etc.
Awards

Fee Structures
There are a few different fee structures I use. In talking with you about your project it may be better for you to have an hourly fee structure. Some projects can be proposed with a lump sum fee. Then there are some cases where I have charged a combination of these two types. A lump sum will cover the project up to certain phase and then the hourly fee will be charged for later phases. I do not charge for the first hour of consultation. At this time I do not retail the furnishings and fixtures but will shop these items for you to get you the best value. There are some retailers that I have relationships with and whatever discount they offer me, I will ask them to pass that discount along to you. These discounts range from 10 - 20%. JHF Design Studio is open to all budget ranges. Homes of 6,000 square feet and commercial projects of 20,000 square feet are typical limits.
Design Gallery
Eagle Federal Credit Union, Baton Rouge, LA
The lobby of this contemporary building needed to have a warm feeling for the members. By using red and rich warm woods the users are more comfortable when waiting in this area. / Eagle Federal Credit Union, Baton Rouge, LA
First Guaranty Bank, Denham Springs, LA
In keeping with the contemporary style of the architecture, the furnishings were kept contemporary as well. By using soft blues and greens the lobby is more comfortable and less harsh than most contemporary settings. / First Guaranty Bank, Denham Springs, LA
Residential Foyer, Hammond, LA
An eclectic mix of a Sheraton half-moon table with a clean contemporary lamp and - always - fresh flowers! / Residential Foyer, Hammond, LA
Traditional Buffet, Hammond, LA
Equestrian theme, traditional English walnut buffet. Wall is done in a faux paint treatment. / Traditional Buffet, Hammond, LA
Our Lady of the Lake Oncology Sunroom, Baton Rouge, LA
This transitional space was created for patients and their families to relax, read, watch television or check e-mails. Hospital standards were adhered to in selecting the furniture and finishes for this room. / Our Lady of the Lake Oncology Sunroom, Baton Rouge, LA
