About
The designs of Jona Collins, CID, a premier interior designer based in the San Francisco Bay area, are timeless and graceful. With an artist’s eye and the ability to transition from one style to another with ease, Jona revolves each interior around its key architectural features to compose a space that’s authentic to each home and homeowner. A certified interior designer who has trained at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, Jona has been beautifying homes and offices for the past decade. Her interiors, which have been featured on HGTV, are glamorous, sumptuous and statement-making, with a strong sense of classic sophistication. Paying careful attention to every detail, Jona integrates the personal collections of her clients with fine art, antiques, contemporary pieces, and custom-designed furniture. By accentuating each space with her renowned European-influenced dressmaker flourishes, she creates a comfortable, elegant interior tailored to the specific lifestyle of each client. Jona’s expert use of luxurious textiles stems from beginning her career as a skilled dressmaker and costume designer for some of the top performers in the music industry. From there, her boutique business branched out into her award-winning furniture designs and acclaimed interiors. Her inherent eye for intricate architectural elements, sense of color and range of design styles make her a highly sought-after designer.  In her spare time, Jona makes it a priority to not only beautify but also improve the lives of others through her philanthropic involvement. She donates her talents to causes near to her heart such as the Dining by Design event with the Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA), for which she has been recognized in California Home + Design Magazine. Jona strives to create unique interiors that inspire. With a passion for bringing to life highly personalized living spaces that are equally eye-catching and inviting, Jona will take your vision from dream to reality.

The elegant, creative and fun table environments Jona created for a very special event are a feast for the eyes. By incorporating exotic and imaginative details, Jona composed a delicious display that appeals to the senses. The featured English Regency chairs from The Grand Melange dining scene were loaned for the evening from Ann Getty Associates.  The Dining by Design event is very dear to Jona. She takes such joy in artfully arranging the formal dining rooms to help raise proceeds for a wonderful cause. / www.JonaCollins.com

For every interior large or small, it’s all about the details. Those details make a house a home and can say a lot about the homeowner. As your interior designer, Jona procures unique materials and finishes, blending them with your personal art collections to achieve just the right look and feel of your interior. / www.JonaCollins.com

The Homeowners wanted to feel as though they had walked into a wonderful space in France. The living room room’s original French Provencal feel was brought together by adding the cozy sofa, toile patterns & elegant European embellishments. The lovely Majolica Collection, the soft colors in the Brunschwig & Fils and the Maison de Campagne fabrics & trims add the perfect finishing touches that the clients just love. / www.JonaCollins.com

This Pescadero log home on a horse ranch hidden among redwood trees features many Western-style haute couture elements, but it all started with a barn. The project unfolded over six years, as Jona was initially contacted by the homeowner to improve the barn layout and help select some home furnishings. Gradually, she uncovered the home’s true essence. The home previously had a haphazard design, but Jona pulled it all together as one cohesive look: a rustic log home with natural elements and luxe finishes that tied into the beautiful surroundings. The theme? A high-end Bonanza feel with details such as leather-and-fringed furniture pieces, copper fixtures, reclaimed juniper logs, natural limestone, river rock and custom cabinets with metal stud accents. / www.JonaCollins.com

For a modern interpretation, Jona mixed in Barbara Barry, Italian Rococo and 18th-century French antique furnishings throughout. Some of the highlights include the soft petal-themed master suite with sumptuous draperies, inspired by the fabric of a smoky lilac Jimmy Choo shoe belonging to the homeowner. One of Jona’s favorite pieces in the entire home? The custom chaise lounge she created for her client based on the little girl’s hand-drawn sketch. / www.JonaCollins.com

Rich and warm, this beautiful 1920s Spanish Revival has been glamorously restored with timeless décor, combining heirloom antiques, and luxurious fabrics and furnishings. Authentic details such as the color wash on the walls historically enhance the home’s classic architecture. Deep hues and dark woods were used throughout the interior, both because the clients loved them and also because they tied the traditional and romantic elements together, creating a warm and welcoming environment. / www.JonaCollins.com

Although already gorgeous in its original architecture, Jona brought a grand sense of French elegance to this 1870s Italiante mansion interior that still needed some fine-tuning. Working with some of the homeowners’ Parisian antiques and finds from their travels, it all came together beautifully like pieces of a puzzle that told this family’s story. / www.JonaCollins.com

A little girl who loves the ballet. Some of the highlights include the sweet Bunny Business toile and a velvety pink fabric reminiscent of a ballet slipper. / www.JonaCollins.com

This beautiful Napa Valley residence, just inside of St. Helena, is situated on three acres and surrounded by vineyards. With its surroundings providing the perfect French Country backdrop, Jona took a cue from the scenery and the home’s rustic charm, and incorporated period antiques and Pierre Frey fabrics.  / www.JonaCollins.com
