About
Julie Laughton is a graduate of Iowa State University. After completing her Bachelors Degree in Interior Design in 1985, she moved to New York City where she spent the first 7 years of her professional career working for two different Architecture Firms and one Interior Design Firm, acting as Senior Designer, responsible for all the hand drafting of space plans, furniture plans, the selection of all the furnishings and materials, and the supervision of the installations. Her corporate clients in New York City were such established corporations as Bank of America’s 5th Avenue Corporate Offices, CITI Bank’s Park Avenue Corporate Offices, and David Webb Jewelry on Park Avenue. Laughton also worked with the Top 5 Developers in Manhattan building of many of the city's many 40-Story Luxury High Rises Condos. In 1991, after working in NYC professionally, Laughton moved to Laguna Beach, where she devoted her custom design talents to the residential market, focusing mainly on custom designs for the private residence. Julie is also a Licensed General Contractor (#903819).
Services Offered
Julie Laughton takes a hands on approach for all her projects, she uses her talent to draw, and her ability to visualize, to see the end result before the project even starts, and then takes her expertise and experience in the custom design arena to create pure designs that work, keeping her eye on the details, she is able to help her clients achieve there goals for their homes, restoring them back to their original beauty and charm, giving authenticity back, and finishing them with style. Laughton has completed over 350 custom kitchen remodels, and done a few commercial projects along the way. She has had the pleasure of working on such Historical remodels as the Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica, Ca. built in 1938, and an original Wallace Neff home in Pasadena, built in 1927. With her love of the Art Deco Era, and she fell in love with of all the early California Homes built from 1910 through 1930’s, the Spanish and Mediterranean styles, the Craftsman, and of course the Bungalows.
