She received her interior design degree from the University of Texas in Austin. As an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), she has chaired and served on various committees within the organization's chapters. Kay has also been an Adjunct Professor of Interior Design. She is active in her community and enjoys her involvement in various civic and philanthropic organizations.
