About
Lebanese born Interior Architect, Lamia Maalouf, is co-owner of MI Design and a board member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Los Angeles Chapter. As a professional interior architect Maalouf specializes in design as well as construction management of commercial, hospitality and residential properties. Early in her career, the designer built a wood shop in her native country designing her own furniture customized to the needs of her demanding clients. Her projects were featured at the Salone Internationale del Mobile - Milan, Italy and at NeoCon West – Los Angeles, California. Maalouf’s mission is to provide personal attention to each and every client while offering a high level of design that adheres to the client’s aesthetic and budgetary goals. She continuously delivers and maintains quality performance and innovative techniques in interior architecture of high-end residential and commercial projects. Completed projects are spread throughout the United States, France and the Middle East. She recently consulted on a multi-million project in Dubai. Maalouf is a graduate with honors from California State University, Los Angeles with a degree in Interior Design. In addition to her continuing professional training through ASID, she is regularly enrolled in courses at the UCLA Interior Design extension program. Maalouf strongly believes that preserving the environment is an essential factor in now-a-days fast-paced lifestyle. The designer continues to encourage and educate her clients about sustainable design materials, techniques and products that protect human health and the environment.
Services Offered
MI Design is a consortium of design professionals in Interior Design and Structural Engineering. MI Design is an award winning, detail oriented, and professional design firm. Its signature style stems from a European sensibility and a high level of erudition. Summary of Duties: . Analyzing the client's needs, ensuring safe and sustainable environment. . Formulating design concepts that are appropriate, functional, and aesthetic. . Coordinating space planning and furniture. . Developing and presenting final design concepts through appropriate presentation media. . Preparation of construction plans and specifications. Selection of finish materials. . Administration of bids and preparation of contract documents. . Collaboration with architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical designers. . Managing furniture and woodworks construction. . Procurement of furniture and interior finishes.
