PERSONAL DESIGN PHILOSOPHY I’ve heard it said that life is a series of choices. In my choice to practice interior design, I would take that philosophy one step farther: I think life is also a series of experiences. This profession is more than a job to me – it is a way of life. It is my hope that if I can help improve someone’s experience through a thoughtful and artfully designed interior, then life is made that much more joyful, and folks can concentrate on the big stuff like excelling in their own professions, raising their families, getting well and treating themselves when daily life calls for a time out. This is why I don’t limit my practice to a single project type. I enjoy commercial design as much as residential design and believe one’s experiences in a place of business, favorite hotel or restaurant, doctor’s office and home all combine to make up a balanced and gratifying life. I am a good listener, a stickler for details and am used to working quickly and efficiently. I understand a budget is a budget, but like to think my design solutions are never a compromise on function or style. SERVICES I am the owner of a sole proprietorship, Leslie Dohr Interior Design LLC. I use interviews, image and preference surveys and other tools to understand the design challenges and how best to deliver the services needed in order to accomplish the project goals. This could be as simple as a two hour consultation to select paint colors, or a multi-phased project lasting several months.
