About
Originally from Georgia, I obtained a bachelor of fine arts in interior design from Georgia State University. Just after starting design classes, I began as an assistant to Rita Carson Guest, FASID who specializes in corporate and residential design. This was a rich experience of the theoretical and the practical. Several years later, my husband and I combined interior design and architecture and worked primarily on new construction residential projects in the Atlanta area. After moving to California in 1991, with a young son and a declining economy, I streamlined my career to window treatments, furniture and organizational systems. That experience enriched my abilities in designing and detailing cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms, office systems, closets and all types of storage areas. In 2002, I began to move back into full service design and currently collaborate with husband and architect, Fred Dean, AIA, and design professionals and assistants as needed.
Services Offered
Design Artisan is a full service commercial and residential interior design company also offering architectural and permitting services. Our designs reflect a company's image or client's personality while meeting practical design needs. We specialize in remodeling and new construction using a "green" approach. For those who simply need interior design advice, such as staging tips for selling a home or decision-making tips, we offer "2-hour" design consultations. Lyndi will visit the home or office and help the client with immediate decisions or do a step by step plan of action that can be implemented over time. With a motivated client, these consultations make huge strides towards completing desired design goals. When working on any type of design project, small or large, there is a feeling when the design is right; there is an excitement. Style, color, comfort, lighting, and placement all factor in to the right design.

Fee Structures
We generally charge an hourly design fee with a minimal percentage on purchases. After discussing the scope of work, a proposal is written and agreed upon. We do not charge for the initial meeting. The "2-hour consultation" is a flat fee which includes a phone conversation prior to the meeting. During this conversation we discuss what the primary focus will be, i.e. paint colors, furniture arrangement, storage solutions.

Conference Room
This small room looks light and open with a glass top table and sleek, form-fitting chairs. / Conference Room
Doctor's Private Office
This doctor's office offers an area to confer with patients that is private, comfortable and dignified. / Doctor's Private Office
Guest Bath
This full bath has it all in a very small space. We designed the vanity for architectural appeal as well as functionality. / Guest Bath
Master Bath
The rain forest marble, dark rattan pull-out baskets and intense paint colors gave this remodeled bath a tropical yet sophisticated look. The counter is only 18" deep but the large sink projects out to 24" making the entire room seem larger. The counter is a comfortable height at 36". / Master Bath
The West Bar
This revival of a 1910 adobe building in New Mexico was a lot of hard, hands-on work, a tiny budget and a few cans of paint. / The West Bar
