As an artist and an Interior Designer, my approach to design is based on several ideas one of which is the idea that 'taste is preference'. In my work, I utilize principles of art and design combined to achieve the vision of my client. As a guide, I listen and then assess the direction we will go to create what is important to the design process; the organization of color, light, mass and space within an environment. After a client states their preferences, I design until a unified vision is reached. Of course, my art history and fine art background enrich the results while reflecting my client's taste. The other two ideas that I base my work on is 'transformation' and 'signature'. I believe that design and art should be able to transform us from the past and that a designer should have a signature style that is evident in each project.
