Michelle Gibson earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Virginia Tech in 1993. She began developing her design portfolio while still a student, working for The Design Center in Blacksburg, VA, where she focused on residential projects. Later that year, she and her husband, Jamie, moved to the Raleigh area where she continued to gain valuable experience working in corporate design and facilities planning for a Fortune 500 company. She expanded her experience further as a territory manager and manufacturer's representative for a nationally recognized contract furniture company. She designed classroom spaces and managed several high profile projects for Raleigh area universities. During this time, she also was a key team member for the development of new cutting edge furniture. Most of these product designs remain leading solutions for the high tech educational and office interiors of today. Michelle is the proud mother of two girls, and readily applies this experience to her residential design work by understanding the needs of busy moms with active families. Combining her passion for interior design with her fun personality, Michelle began MG Design, LLC in 2006 to provide her clients with personalized service and to create beautiful, functional spaces that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.
