Elemental materials such as bamboo, aluminum, lapis stone and translucent or softly reflective finishes give this well-appointed kitchen a sense of delight. Bold horizontal shapes and meticulously planned spaces defy the modest square footage. This Subway Café, a leap beyond the standard Subway, received a design award from the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. Its upbeat, contemporary design was planned to complement the upscale office building it serves. Color, texture, art and comfortable seating help provide a pleasant break from office routine for breakfast or lunch. All this from what once was part of an underground parking garage. / New Concept for Subway

The owners added a room on the rear of their home to accomodate large family parties, views to the water, and access to a deck. The large island provides ample storage and an expanse of countertop for 2 or more cooks using beautiful wood-stained cabinets with a Craftsmen style. / 2007 Kitchen Addition
