About
Meet the woman who can inspire you, motivate you and take you on a learning journey, while creating your most beautiful, functional and inviting space! Natalie Weinstein, president of Natalie Weinstein Design Associates, founded in 1973, is a veteran interior designer whose energy and dynamism have powered both a vast client base and more than 15,000 members in her Home Decorating Club. Her mission is clear – make the world a better place, one person at a time, through the home environment, the place that nurtures and empowers. Her association with excellent source professionals enables her and her team to provide classic design in every style in most budgets. Former director and master teacher at The Willsey Institute for Art and Interior Design, Natalie appears at Home and Gardens Shows, moderating and providing seminars. Her often-published design work has appeared in House, Newsday, The New York Times, Palm Beach Life, Nite Life and Distinction Magazines. Her “Long Island Focus” feature in House Magazine highlights Long Island’s historic sites, as well as her love for Long Island. She is a frequent guest expert on Long Island Cable TV and offers design tips weekly on WALK FM 97.5, as well as hosting and producing “The Home Show with Natalie Weinstein”, a weekly radio program on WALK 1370 AM, Sundays at 10 AM. She has recently completed a book inspired by her many years of teaching and lecturing entitled “The 100 Most Often Asked Interior Design Questions”, as well as a children’s book on interior design, entitled “Katrina’s New Room”. Her design column appears in The Times Beacon Record Group of newspapers, Our Town and the Hampton News. Services Offered
Natalie Weinstein Design Associates is a full service design firm specializing in residences, offices and public buildings. Located on Long Island, serving the tri-state area and Florida, its eight person staff is committed to providing the service and attention to detail that make the decorating experience a positive and fulfilling one. Personally trained by “hands-on” designer Natalie Weinstein, this team embodies the belief of its president that your environment is an extension of yourself and can be empowering or diminishing. These designers are experts in lighting, tile, flooring, color, fabrics, window treatments, autoCAD, space planning, project supervision and much more. They enhance and support services for each client while Natalie personally establishes the project parameters and creative plan and provides the shopping experience and product selection, as well as final phase accessorizing. Each client thus has Natalie’s personal attention, as well as a full staff participating in the successful completion of their project. Whether a large residence, small condo or office, Natalie’s approach to a project remains the same. The step-by-step procedures simplify the process so clients make good decisions without fear or doubt. Natalie’s background and skills as a former master teacher and executive director of the Willsey Institute for Art and Interior Design enriches the decorating experience for her clients. She takes them on a fun learning journey that ultimately results in a project reflecting their own best taste, as well as the designer’s creativity and expertise. This design firm is also noted for its successful collaboration with architects and builders, acting as project managers and facilitators, as well as providing sources for building and renovation. Often brought in well before the decorating phase, Natalie Weinstein Design Associates ensures projects being completed on time and in budget.

Fee Structures
The fee structure of this design firm is based on square footage of the project and scope of the job. That fee is approximately $10 per square foot. It is all inclusive, whatever the client spends, and is paid in monthly installments throughout the project. A non-refundable retainer is charged on contract signing which is roughly 10% of the project and an initial consultation fee is charged based on distance from the firm’s Smithtown, NY office. All purchases for products are at designer’s cost, providing savings of between 25%-50% off retail. In most cases, the client pays direct. The fee includes • Field measuring • Floor plan and custom cabinetry design • Product, color and fabric specifications • Sources for products and services • Shopping days for selection • Budget analysis and presentation • Scheduling for design, construction implementation and completion phases • Supervision of furniture deliveries and installation of window treatments, lighting, etc. where needed • Completion of art and accessories On occasion, the design firm will provide single and separate services when needed and this is charged at an hourly rate of $250 for Natalie and $100 for support staff, or a mutually agreed upon flat fee. The fee structure remains the same for out of state commissions, however, airfare and other out of pocket expenses are additional. While Natalie Weinstein Design Associates generally specializes in residences between 3,000 and 25,000 square feet, each project is considered on its own merit. Commercial projects are addressed in the same fashion. As of January 2007
