After receiving an heirloom area rug from her mother-in-law my client was ready for a change and a new living room filled with color.
The rug and sofa were the starting point, so we painted the walls aquamarine to offer a soft contrast to the buttery yellow drapery panels and accented with coral to blend with the tones in the rug.
The vibrant pattern on the lounge chairs took a little persuasion, but the client trusted my design eye and went for it.
We brought in the client's English Hepplewhite chairs for extra seating and recovered the seats in a teal modern animal print velvet for a touch of the unexpected.
The adjacent Dining Room got a facelift with coral walls and silk check drapery harmonizing the teals and golds. This fabric was also repeated on the Living Room lounge chair pillows to tie the spaces together.
The overall transformation were cheerful spaces with warmth and whimsy.
