Award Winning Residential Design

Ms. Alston recently won as ASID design award for her work  in 2012 designing a library/ dining room. The room is a multi purpose room for the homeowner to enjoy as a library on a day to day basis but still be elegant and functional as a dining room on formal occasions. The children do their homework there at nite and the couple has breaksfast by the large window in the morning. Ms. Alston designed  a bookcase that includes shelving, a buffet and a special built in area for art  and lighting. The moldings in the room were all replaced and designed to match the new millwork.

 
The home owners desired a classic traditional home that reminded them of the historical neighborhoods they grew up in, but accommodated a young family of five’s modern lifestyle.  This concept was achieved through the use of unique architectural elements, quality finishes and a spacious floor plan not seen in typical modern homes.
