As a graduate of Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA, Ellen has received her Masters Degree in Interior Design. For more than two decades, prior to the establishment of her own firm in 1985, Ellen had been affiliated with several prestigious architectural/design firms in both the Philadelphia and Southern Connecticut regions. Successfully completing the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) certification examinations, Ellen has acquired professional status and is an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She is also a registered designer in the State of Connecticut.

Ellen Dunn provides complete design services for residential as well as commercial interiors. Ellen's unique and individual design work combines the development of floor plans, architectural detailing and finish specifications. Furniture selection, custom built-in storage and display units, color scheme coordination, window treatments, purchasing and installation are what you can expect from this seasoned professional. Ellen has been recognized by her peers for her space planning ability and the development of detailed construction drawings for additions and renovations. Particular emphasis has always been placed on creating beautifully functional kitchens and bathrooms.

Fee Structures

Ellen Dunn, ASID is compensated for her services by an hourly fee of $175. A project time log will record all work and is provided to the client with the monthly invoice. If it is possible to clearly define the scope of the project, a cap on fees will be stipulated. An appropriate portion of the projected fees is required as a retainer before work commences and will be applied to the last billing of the design hours upon the job completion. Upon approval of the design selections the client may then choose to purchase from the designer, or accept the responsibility of purchasing by themselves. At the owner's request, Ellen Dunn, ASID will accept the responsibility to act as a purchasing agent for the client, providing proposals for both merchandise and subcontractor services. Proposals, estimates, pricing and all specifications, as well as time devoted to design supervision and installations, will be invoiced per the hourly rate listed above. Purchase order processing and follow-up time is included in the merchandise mark-up amount and is not charged as billable time.
