Camille L. Horton, is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, having been certified since 1978. Certification is awarded after passing the competency examination administered by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification. Further, she is accredited by the California Council for Interior Design Certification, having help establish the testing standards for the State and being one of the first accreditations by the State of California for "Certified Interior Design" status. Ms. Horton holds a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from California Polytechnic State University (1975) and a California Contractor's License. She is also registered with the State of California as a Certified Small Business. With over 32 years of professional design experience, Ms. Horton's expertise encompasses every phase of interior design and project management in both commercial and residential markets. Camille's professional growth is attributable to the philosophy, goals and entrepreneurial spirit culled from her long-term business experience, including fifteen years as a self-employed full-service design/build contractor, eight years as principal of a KnollSource furniture dealership, and nine years of employment with MTA, and one year with an architectural firm. Her work has been consistently recognized over the years; winning awards from a variety of professional organizations. These include: the Bentley Mills "Award of Excellence" for Outstanding Interior Design for the Outdoorsman of Lake Tahoe, and the 1990 ASID Silver Award for Design Excellence. This coveted award was bestowed for the renovated executive office of KCS Development. Additionally, the 1984 award from the American Institute of Architects for the "Outstanding Interiors" of the lobby of 7919 Folsom Boulevard. In 1980, the Ceramic Tile Institute titled her with the "Professional Designer Award" for Northern California.
