A passion for contemporary design, the knowledge to back it up and open and friendly communication with the client are all key ingredients for successful design. deborah marks became fascinated with contemporary design in Europe where she lived for many years. She was able to see first-hand the latest trends and developed an eye for the contemporary. Each year she returns to take in the newest evolutions in design. deborah marks acquired the Commercial and Residential Interior Design Certificate in California, worked in high-end contemporary furniture showrooms and started her own firm seven years ago in the Bay Area. Her interest led her to publish a series of articles for the website By Recommendation Only (www.byreconly.com) entitled “Your First Home.” She was interviewed in the San Jose Mercury for the Silicon Valley Home Magazine in July 2004 in an article entitled “Modern furniture and design” by Kristine Spangler. She is an Allied Member of ASID and a member of NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association). She is also active in Design Net which is a group of local designers meeting monthly to exchange information and ideas. To keep up with the latest developments in the world of design, deborah marks regularly attends seminars and markets at the San Francisco Design Center.

And we can work with your budget. Whether you furnish your home with Ikea or B & B Italia or even a mixture of several, all can enjoy the beauty and comfort of contemporary design. It’s not the size of the budget which determines the success of a project, but the skilled and knowledgeable selection and combination of the materials used. Services are customized to fit your needs! We offer a two-hour (minimum) one room consultation that includes floor plan, color scheme, rearrangement of existing furniture and/or suggestions for furniture, lighting, windows, flooring, etc. Project review consultations where we take your ideas and create the perfect solution to your design dilemma. In-depth room(s) design which would include floor plan, color scheme, research into products, detailed recommendations for all furnishings, shopping on the part of the client and/or designer, purchasing of products, working with fabricators and providing links to contractors and subcontractors. For extensive projects, deborah marks interior design is pleased to work as a team with clients, architects and contractors in order to maximize the outcome and thus your satisfaction. Green Design can be incorporated into any project.

Fee Structures

The initial consultation is in most cases free of charge. Please call or e-mail for additional information. An hourly fee is charged for all projects. The fee varies depending on the type and scope of the project. A retainer fee is required upon signing the Agreement and will be returned when the project is completed.
