Ashfield Hansen Design Inc. was established in 2005. Barbara Ashfield and David Hansen come from diverse, but complimentary backgrounds. Barbara was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, followed by 18 years in New York City and Connecticut where she attended the NY School of Interior Design and worked for prominent firms and seasoned designers. She returned to San Francisco in 2001 and started her own firm, working independently until she met David in 2003, at which time they joined forces. AHD is an award-winning firm, with multiple ASID awards from the California Peninsula Chapter. In 2007, an "Award of Distinction" for a retail space and in 2008 a "Gold Award" for a Bath transformation. AHD believes in the strength of the community and regularly volunteers their time with organizations such DIFFA, The Coyote Point Museum Auxiliary, The Redwood City Education Foundation, The Mid Peninsula Boys and Girls Club and the St. Vincent DePaul Society of Northern California.
