About
Victoria Dryden holds a professional degree in Interior Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) received after spending fifteen years as a professional actress and modern dancer in Los Angeles and New York. She is NCIDQ certified and is licensed as an Interior Designer in Connecticut. Victoria has been practicing Interior Design for over eighteen years. She believes in the importance of good design as a way to improve our everyday experience of the world. Victoria Dryden is first, and foremost, a designer of space. Her great understanding of the way we humans move in space derives from her background in dance and theater and is greatly informed by her training and experience as an Interior Architect. From the macro to the micro, Victoria Dryden relishes the challenge to create a most beautiful and functional human experience, whether it is a kitchen or an airport hangar, the design challenge is the same...how will the space best function by the inhabitors and users, and what is the overall design concept? As a furniture designer, Victoria is able to match custom designed furniture and cabinetry to the design plan with the utmost care taken to insure that the users of the space have the most functional and beautiful design possible. Victoria's drawings for a modular home were selected by RISD's architecture school to hang in an exhibition of outstanding student/alumni work. She has been featured in articles in the New London Day's Marketplace magazine, New England Home's Featured Designer, and numerous local and state-wide publications and radio programs. Victoria Dryden, ASID has worked on residential projects ranging from the project management of the interior renovation of a 200+ year old farmhouse in Connecticut, to the full Interior Space Planning and Design of a 5000 s.f. log home in in the mountains of North Carolina. Commercial experience includes numerous business office spaces, design of multiple restaurants and theater lobbies, and consultation with business and hotel owner looking for a greater customer experience. Victoria Dryden, ASID is available for full design services and project management, or single consultations.
