About
A graduate of The Parsons School of Design-Interior Design program, I also hold a degree in Art History from Boston University. I began my career designing furniture, space planning, and specifying interior decorative finishes for a firm that specialized in restaurant, hotel, and residential design in New York and Chicago. Following that experience, I worked as an interior designer for both Lord & Taylor and Bloomingdales. Most noteworthy credits include the famous Pump Room Restaurant in Chicago; ex-governor Cary's pied-a-terre in the Hotel des Artistes, New York; and a corporate apartment for the CEO of Chevron Corporation in The Olympic Tower on Fifth Avenue. Acting as a furnishings consultant for the set of the Broadway production of David Mamet's "Speed-The-Plow" proved to be an especially exciting detour. My furniture designs have appeared in "The New York Times" and "The Chicago Tribune". My residential interiors have appeared in "First For Women", "Woman's World", "New York Newsday", and "House Beautiful". I have been happily self-employed since 1989. The primary focus has been fine quality residential projects in New York City and throughout the tri-state area. With over 25 years in the wonderful profession of Interior Design; I know how to listen, interpret and finally translate my client's needs and desires into a beautiful space that will bring them years of enjoyment.
Services Offered
When people ask me "What style do you do?" I know they are expecting me to respond "contemporary" or "country" or "I specialize in traditional rooms." The fact is, I find inspiration in a diverse world of design and, most important, in the wonderful individuality of my clients. I translate their needs and aspirations into welcoming living environments. Comfort is always a priority in my aesthetic framework, as is function and a precise sense of scale. As I manage and supervise every phase of your project, you can look forward to spending your time doing what you do best, while I create the beautiful home you deserve. The biggest compliment I have ever received occurred when a client walked into her newly installed livingroom, did a 360 degree turn, looked at me and exclaimed "This room looks just like me!". I feel this is my unique gift. What are my personal preferences? I love color, texture, comfort and warmth. I favor fabrics and surfaces that are livable and long-lasting. Who are my clients? I enjoy working with down to earth people. I have worked on multi-million dollar homes and intimate apartments. They are all valued assignments. One of my specialties is working with individuals who love collecting or who would like to create a collection. A sense of humor always propels the creative process, and an appreciation of discreet touches of thoughtful design whimsy is shared by many of my clients. Inevitably they all seek the welcome of comfort, the pleasure of walking around barefoot and flopping down wherever they like. The environments that I design are calming havens in a hectic world. They are a reflection of years of experience. I believe they reflect the very best of my clients.
Awards

Fee Structures
Fees are tailored to the individual needs of each project. Methods of compensation best suited to the size and scope of the job, and the client's preferences, will be developed into a "Letter of Agreement" after the initial consultation at your home. If this initial meeting is a working consultation, a modest fee will charged. In this "Letter of Agreement", which will outline our collaboration; a Design Fee based on the size of your project will be requested. This fee will cover floor plans and basic specifications. Clients can have as little or as much involvement in the shopping and ordering process as they choose. My goal is to take the worry off your shoulders. You can better protect your investment if you allow me to help you avoid costly mistakes. They are the most expensive expenditure you don't want to make. If you have further questions, I invite you to call me so that we can discuss your project person to person.
