ASID National Honors

ASID National Honors

The ASID National Honors represent the highest level of professional recognition bestowed by the Society. These honors recognize exemplary achievements in bodies of work created over the course of a career; outstanding service demonstrated by chapters, industry partners, or individuals at the local/regional level; and special contributions to ASID made by highly engaged members.

Fellowship

This is the highest honor that ASID bestows on its members. Elevation to fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of an individual designer but also elevates before the public and the profession a model interior designer who has made a significant contribution to the profession and the Society.

Lifetime Award

This honor recognizes and rewards individual members for their special contributions to ASID. This award is limited to past ASID Society-level Chairs and other professional members who meet the eligibility criteria. Lifetime Awards should not be confused with retired or inactive status, and are not tied to financial hardship considerations. New Lifetime members must pay dues for the year in which they are approved. However, after the year has ended, the Lifetime Award recipient is exempt from all annual dues payments. Lifetime Award recipients retain all rights and privileges of regular professional membership.

Service Award

The ASID Chapter Community Service award is bestowed by the Society upon an ASID professional chapter that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service during the previous ASID program year, and that best exemplifies, in the estimation of the judges, the spirit of bringing design to life in the service of others.

The ASID Medalist and Honorary Medalist awards of distinction are granted by the Society to recognize members and non-design professionals who have demonstrated outstanding service to their chapter and/or ASID, and/or provided significant contributions to the interior design profession, and/or made significant contributions that have enriched the human experience. Medalist awards may be granted to ASID professional, allied, or associate members who fulfill the criteria set forth by the ASID National Examiners Committee. Honorary Medalist awards may be granted to individuals who are not interior designers by profession.
