ASID Announces Free Trial Membership to Material ConneXion
WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 12, 2012) | The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is excited to announce a new partnership with Material ConneXion, the world’s largest library of advanced, innovative and sustainable materials and processes. Beginning on September Sept. 15, 2012, all ASID members will gain full access to their nine worldwide and online libraries, in addition to their coveted consulting services (valued at $500 for an annual individual membership).
Material ConneXion is made up of an international team of multidisciplinary experts that bridge the gap between science and design to create practical manufacturing solutions. Materials are chosen through a strict review process and 50 to 60 new materials are added to the library every month. Physical material samples are available in the Materials Library and unlimited access to material information is available in an easily searchable online Materials Database.
For a limited time, Material ConneXion will offer ASID members unlimited access to its library and online, in-person and professional materials consulting. The library features more than 7,000 materials in eight categories, including the largest selection of sustainable materials and an exclusive Cradle-to-Cradle section. Physical material samples are available in nine international Material ConneXion library locations, including the flagship New York City location in the United States. Unlimited access to material information is available in an easily searchable online materials database.
The ASID and Material ConneXion partnership will be unveiled at the ASID GO PRO: NYC event on September 15.
“Forever linked to design, our company is focused on offering extensive materials and knowledge for diverse areas of use. Opening our doors to ASID members is a great opportunity to strengthen our ongoing dialogue with the interior design community,” says Michael LaGreca, VP Library Access Program. “Offering access to our library and online database will put the most innovative, advanced and sustainable materials in front of those most likely to utilize it,” he continues. “We want to encourage interior designers to make better material choices that can drastically enhance their projects and generate more business.”
The trial period will be open exclusively to all ASID members from Sept. 15 – Oct. 8, 2012. ASID members may access at the library at: www.asid.org/memberservices/Material+Connexion+Promotion.htm
