First Place Award: Sunset Magazine of Western Living and ASID-Los Angeles,awarded Ivan Beardsley the most exciting use of color. The winning entry employs the use of riveting color juxtaposed to a background of saturated earth-tones and polished concrete floors.
First Place Award: Sunset Magazine of Western Living/ASID-Los Angeles for the most compelling space went to this open-aired dining pavilion high on a hill with views. The design philosophy, evident in all Beardsley/Weiss projects, that there should be a seamless transition between a designed environment and it’s surroundings.
Harmony and balance between architecture, exterior views, interiors and world class art was acheived by the custom design of built-in furniture and custom tailored lighting details. The environment was designed to house the everchanging art of passionate collectors in this Santa Monica residence.
First Place Award for commercial design was awarded to Ivan Beardsley by ASID-Los Angeles for the New Harvest Christian Fellowship sanctuary. The 10,000 sq. ft. performance venue was enlivened with soaring red columns and specialty lighting to elevate the spirit.
In a grand modern style, this Benedict Canyon estate was reconfigured to engender a calm simplicity. Custom lighting, silk clad fireplace fixtures, original furnishings and stone details like the cantilevered limestone elements on the fireplace support two whimsical jackrabbits in high fashion.
