This sleek and minimalist room uses silks, wools, velvet, and leather in varying hues of grey. The art and accessories are simple and uncluttered, yet enhanced by the custom lighting.
A large round dining table makes a rectangular room interesting. A square bordered wool rug, simple yet comfortable upholstered chairs, slightly puddled drapery panels, woven wood shades for sun protection, and an iron chandelier with crystal accents offer the room a certain classic elegance.
A country kitchen with beamed ceilings, cherry cabinets, and a custom pine island with glass display drawers. The counter tops are granite and the backsplash uses one tile in a variety of shapes and sizes.
An extra room became a wine cellar for a serious wine collector. The vaulted ceiling was faux painted with grape vines and leaves reminiscent of autumn colors. The slate tile floor has the same burnished colors of autumn.
Each year a team of talented ASID designers are chosen to design a room in this historic English Gothic Revival mansion which was built in 1928 for the Doheny Family. The mansion is now owned by the city of Beverly Hills and proceeds of this showcase go toward the restoration of Greystone Estate.
