Ann M. Kohout is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Design, and has been designing residential and corporate interiors since 1980. She founded her own interior design firm in 1987, and has concentrated on creating elegant environments for business and residential clients.
Prior to her independent consulting, Ann was a Senior Interior Designer for the firm Larry Deutsch, ASID, where she developed high-end interiors for residential, and senior living facilities. Ann worked for seven years as an Interior Designer/ Project Team Leader for The Northern Trust Company designing primarily customer contact areas for the companys facilities nationwide. While working at The Northern Trust Company, Ann had the unique opportunity to work directly with Sister Parish and Albert Hadley designing several Northern Trust facilities in Florida. Her foundational education, extensive responsibility at Northern Trust, and exposure to the collaboration with Parish- Hadley gave Ann her sense of modern taste, and old-fashioned values.
Having built two luxury homes in Hinsdale, Illinois, Ann finds that home builders and individuals building or remodeling custom homes often seek her valued advice and collaboration. Understanding how the client thinks about their interior is reflected in successful interiors which represent their individual needs, tastes, and lifestyles.
Ann holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Iowa State University.
She successfully passed the NCIDQ exam given by the Council of Interior Design Qualifications, the global leader which establishes standard of competence for interior design and interior architecture professionals.
