Kim Annick Mitchell has her dream job that drives her passion for each project. As an interior designer, she applies her artistry and design insights and principles in creating expressive timeless designs unique to each client. Kim is of two worlds, a creative and artistic person who enjoys all the visual arts, yet also a professional grounded and dedicated to the business details to complete each job successfully. After graduating from Boston College, summa cum laude, with a B.A., Kim went on to have a 14 year career in the creative and image-related fields of marketing and advertising with companies such as MasterCard International and J. Walter Thompson. It is through this creative development and branding experience that Kim developed her client and project management business skills, as well as appreciated the need for a clear vision in order to execute a great idea successfully. Due to her passion for design, Kim took on weekend freelance jobs as a home/prop stylist for projects such as HGTV's pilot series, Defining Style. Kim fed her love for global, cultural and historical reference through travels in Thailand, Australia and extensively in Europe and South and Central America. To hone her design talent into interior architecture and decorative arts skills, Kim received her A.A.S. Interior Design degree at Parsons The New School for Design. Her Rehabilitation Center design was selected to be showcased in the Parsons A.A.S. Interior Design Work Book Volume 3. Kim then gained acute knowledge of the residential design industry as the sole interior designer at a high-end Westchester-based residential design-build firm, while also taking on business management responsibilities. Most recently Kim is working with HGTV's series Buying & Selling with The Property Brothers as the Production Designer for the first two episodes of Season #3. Kim has the innate ability to pinpoint a client’s personal style and bring it to life. Her designs are not constrained by a particular style, but informed and inspired by the space and its owners. She believes in guiding her clients to make informed and smart choices for their homes. With each project, big or small, Kim enjoys collaborating with her client and talented teams of trades people and vendors to achieve beautifully expressive and personalized designs.
