Ms. Alston recently won as ASID design award for her work  in 2012 designing a library/ dining room. The room is a multi purpose room for the homeowner to enjoy as a library on a day to day basis but still be elegant and functional as a dining room on formal occasions. The children do their homework there at nite and the couple has breaksfast by the large window in the morning. Ms. Alston designed  a bookcase that includes shelving, a buffet and a special built in area for art  and lighting. The moldings in the room were all replaced and designed to match the new millwork. In addition, Ms. Alston designed moldings to hi light the ceiling. The room is an interesting blend of modern and traditional creating a space that is inviting, fresh and modern and serene all at once. The color palette being a neutral grey and cream with flashes of brillant cinnabar. The textures are played up in the pleated grey silk upholstered walls and the lush grey linen velvet chairs. Custom features abound making this truly a one and only room.
