Loft Home Office/Guest Bedroom
My client works occasionally at home and planned to have client meetings here. The room also had to double as a guest bedroom for a college age daughter who visited occasionally. The room was directly next to the entry door to the loft and open to it. So, he did not want this space to look like an office or a bedroom. It needed to appear to be a 2nd living room/conversation area. The solution was to provide a cabinet which opened up to reveal a working office, but when closed looked like a TV or other type of storage cabinet. The two chairs and sofa provided a place for client meetings. The sofa unfolded to become a guest bed. The screen, to the right of the sofa, was on casters and was moved to close off the room, from the front door, for privacy when someone was sleeping there. Shown are the client's collection of baseball memorabilia and important historical photographs.
