Cara Mitchell is the Executive Assistant to the CEO. She has been with ASID since the summer of 2016 and supports the Executive Office, including the National Board and Trustees. She attends all Board and Trustee meetings, working to coordinate logistics and organize meeting materials, and supports the ASID Foundation, including managing fundraising efforts and maintaining all donation records. Cara also works with the Council of Fellows and Governance Committee to help induct new members to the College of Fellows and elect members to the National Board.
Cara grew up in St. Petersburg, FL, and graduated from Vassar College with a BA in Psychology and Media Studies. After five years in Los Angeles, where she worked in the entertainment industry, she moved to DC to be closer to family and to embark on a new career path. Cara is new to the association and interior design world and is happy to have left behind the endless traffic of LA for a perfectly-sized, walkable city. She loves living in NW DC, bikes to work, and enjoys the strong sense of community in her eclectic neighborhood. She is a swimmer (indoors in the winter!), golfer, Florida Gators fan, lover of delicious food, avid Netflix binger, reader, and loves to travel often.
