Vice President, Strategic Business Priorities

Tiffany Westover-Kernan is Vice President of Strategic Business Priorities. She is responsible for strategic initiatives to increase brand awareness, develop new corporate partnerships and lead programs to position ASID as a thought-leader on the impact of design. As a driven and energetic professional with more than 20 years’ experience, she works with the leadership team to implement the strategic plan and long-range strategic initiatives of the organization.

As an innovative communications leader with demonstrated success in framing national advocacy campaigns, Tiffany’s previous positions include working with communities, nonprofit organizations, governments and private sector companies. As the VP, Business Development and Government Relations for Corporate Voices for Working (CV), a leading a national business membership organization shaping conversations and collaborations on public and corporate policy issues involving working families, she created and advanced innovative policy solutions that reflect a commonality of interests. Prior to CV, Tiffany was VP for the Welfare to Work Partnership where she developed and organized a national, bipartisan grassroots campaign, together with the Clinton White House, in 30 of the highest poverty cities to help companies hire and retain former welfare recipients. She also served as the liaison between the White House, Congress, and other federal departments for community and business efforts and public events as they related to workforce issues. Her experience also includes time as the communications director for the Washington DC-based The Dutko Group, a strategic lobbying and communications company, and five years at Burson- Marsteller in New York working on accounts for the U.S. Olympic Committee and the United States Postal Service.

Tiffany is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and communications. She lives in Alexandria, VA, with her husband, three children and two year Labrador. She loves to cook, play tennis, run with her friends, spend summer days in the 1,000 Islands and water-skiing on the St. Lawrence River and coach girls’ lacrosse. She’s an active supporter of ALIVE, Humane Society, active member of PTA, and Dyslexia Awareness.
