Legislative and Codes Advisory Council
The ASID Legislative and Codes Advisory Council (LCAC) develops and guides the ASID legislative and codes agenda. The LCAC determines ASID positions on state and federal legislation, develops and implements ASID legislative strategy with HST, and works with individual chapters. The LCAC annually allocates legislative financial aid and staff and volunteer resources to coalitions and chapters. The LCAC also develops and guides ASID participation in codes development and adoption processes, including national-, regional- and state-level building codes, as well as other codes and standards affecting the built environment, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Additionally, the LCAC develops and reviews specific code language, as well as strategies for participation in the development of codes, by specific code-writing organizations (International Codes Council, National Fire Protection Association).
The ASID headquarters staff liaison is Don Davis. To reach a member of the Legislative and Codes Advisory Council (LCAC), please submit your inquiry to gpa@asid.org.
