Lindsey Koren is Director, Communications at ASID. Lindsey brings over 15 years of experience in strategic communications to her role. Prior to joining ASID, Lindsey spent the bulk of her career at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, where she was part of the inaugural team who managed publicity and steered strategic communications development for the grand opening of the prominent institution on the National Mall. She was the recipient of a PRSA (Public Relations Society of America) Silver Anvil award in 2017 for her work at the Museum. Lindsey’s academic background is in journalism. Originally from Baltimore, Md., she studied print and sports broadcast journalism at the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, before going on to work in Washington at NBC4 in the George Michael Sports Machine. Outside of her day job, Lindsey works as a part-time yoga instructor at American University, near her home in Washington, D.C. Above all else, Lindsey’s most important job is “mom” to her toddler son, Lewis! Together, they enjoy trips to the beach, watching Ravens football, and observing the comings and goings of area garbage trucks.
