The ASID offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14 in observance of Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day. We thank you for your understanding.
As one of the guardians of public health, safety, and welfare in the built environment, ASID supports the development and adoption of modern building codes, design standards, public policies, laws, and regulations that support safe, sustainable, inclusive, healthy, and efficient design and construction and the wellness of building occupants.
In this spirit, ASID has established a standing National Construction Codes & Standards Committee of 12 members who represent all aspects of interior design practice, as well as former inspectors and code officials turned interior designers. ASID engages in codes and standards development work with the International Code Council, the National Fire Protection Association, the United States Green Building Council, the American National Standards Institute, ASTM International, and the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association, among others.
