Mission Statements of the Advocate by Design Council

Advocate by Design Council

The Advocate by Design (AxD) Council advocates for and educates on the impact of interior design within the built environment, in order to demonstrate how the interior design profession protects the health, safety, welfare, and well-being of building occupants and the public. To this end, the AxD Council, as delegated through the Executive Committee, monitors, researches, and engages in the development of codes, standards, and professional practices, all in an effort to advance legislative, regulatory, and public policies that protect and benefit the interior design profession.

The EPRC is also responsible for reviewing and adjudicating ethics complaints filed against any ASID member.

The EPRC is responsible for: (1) Establishing and administering the ASID Code of Ethics and other standards of practice that promote professional ethics and related conduct; (2) Reviewing ASID ethics policies and procedures on a regular basis to ensure validity and alignment with current professional standards; and (3) Communicating ethics and professional responsibility policies and issues to ASID leadership and membership, stakeholders within the built environment, regulatory authorities, clients, consumers, and the general public.
