ASID annual dues provide members with full access to benefits offered by both the national Society and local professional chapter of their choice, unless otherwise specified. Membership becomes active upon acceptance into the Society and successful processing of dues payment.
Memberships renew annually based on the original join date, following an anniversary-based billing cycle. Please note: Individual Memberships are non-transferable.
A portion of the annual dues for Individual Members—excluding Student and Retired Members—is allocated to support ASID’s legislative advocacy efforts. These funds help advance policies that protect the interior design profession, expand practice rights, and strengthen the industry’s voice at the state and national levels.
All membership dues, along with any application/reinstatement fees, are non-refundable and must be paid in U.S. currency. ASID will automatically back-charge any outstanding invoices.
Members are solely responsible for any transaction or processing fees incurred during payment, including credit card charges. ASID does not issue refunds for these fees.
Cancellations requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. To be considered, requests must be submitted through the cancellation form or by emailing membership@asid.org 30 days prior to the payment processing date.

By selecting the quarterly installment option, you authorize ASID to charge your stored payment method and agree to automatic annual membership renewal. Payments will be processed according to the scheduled installment dates.
Members are responsible for monitoring their renewal dates and payment schedules. Automatic payments (AutoPay) will remain active and continue processing payments unless cancelled 30 days in advance.
For members choosing to pay annual dues in full, the total amount will be charged to the stored payment method at the start of each renewal period. This ensures uninterrupted membership and continued access to ASID benefits. Members who enroll in full dues AutoPay may receive a discount at the time of joining and on each subsequent renewal.
To cancel AutoPay, members must submit a cancellation request, either via the cancellation form or by emailing membership@asid.org, at least 30 days prior to the next scheduled installment or renewal date to avoid future charges. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and, if approved, will apply only to future payments. Cancellations cannot be applied retroactively.
Please Note: The quarterly installment plan is not available to students or retired members. A one-time application fee may apply at the time of initial enrollment.
ASID dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution for federal tax purposes, but a portion may be deducted as a business expense. The portion of dues that is not tax-deductible is 6 percent. It is estimated that the ASID professional chapters use 6 percent of their allotted dues on lobbying activities. Please note: No lobbying fees are deducted from Student membership. ASID encourages all members to report this information to their tax preparer.
25 percent of dues are allocated to the member’s ASID professional chapter. No allocations are made to the professional chapters from Individual Student member dues or Organization Partner dues.
