Faten Baassiri is an award-winning interior architect and designer who brings a unique global perspective to New York’s design landscape. As the founder and principal designer of Studio 1820 (2024), she creates spaces that are both deeply personal and authentically beautiful, drawing from her international education and multicultural experience. Faten holds a B.A. in Interior Architecture and a Master’s degree in Design with distinction from Milan. Her formative career included collaborations with renowned design studios as well as independent freelance work. In 2013, she received the Global Impact Grant Award for her volunteer work renovating a Pediatric Chemo Unit, exemplifying her belief that thoughtful design can profoundly impact lives. As an entrepreneur, she founded En-Suite (2016–2022), a product design collection showcased at the 2017 Chelsea Market event, with a commitment to empowering underprivileged women through craftsmanship. Faten achieved NCIDQ certification in 2023 and is a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers). She currently serves as a part-time professor at Parsons School of Design – The New School, while leading Studio 1820’s projects that span interior architecture, bespoke furniture design and consultation. With over fifteen years of experience across three continents, Faten’s philosophy is about creating spaces that are soulful, functional and deeply personal. By blending comfort with elegance and layering stories with style, she transforms interiors into homes that feel both timeless and unmistakably individual.
