Saima Seyar is a Registered Interior Designer and owner of Elima Designs based in Houston, Texas. She uses influences from around the world to curate design for her residential and commercial clients that include Well Design, Aging in Place, and Sustainability in Luxury Design. She has earned multiple awards for her work done both throughout the United States and internationally. This includes the prestigious Chapter Medalist Award from the Texas Gulf Coast ASID Chapter. Saima has been actively involved as a member in ASID since 1998 at the University of Houston where she earned her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts and Interior Design with a minor in Architecture. Her roles have varied throughout the years in different committees, multiple board positions, TXGC ASID President, ASID CST, and currently on the DEI Committee at the national level. Saima’s transformations extend beyond interior spaces. She helps reshape human experiences through philanthropy, arts, and culture. She is involved in multiple organizations and serving on the board of University of Houston Pakistani Alumni, Houston Furniture Bank and Indus Arts Council. She has designed multiple pro bono projects including the main HFB building, ZT Sports Baseball Training Center, and directed multiple art and culture events for Indus Arts Council. Due to her command of the industry, she has spoken at numerous events and mentors design students in various colleges and universities. Her passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion through various personal experiences and the needs of her clients has led her to be passionate about ASID’s commitment to DEI and the changes that can be created through this platform.
