Changes in the Psychology of Design: Rethinking Space

Description

Our attitudes toward space, both virtual and physical, are changing as we continue to live through the COVID-19 pandemic – but how will they transform further post-COVID? Join Dr. Susan Chung, ASID Director of Research and Knowledge Management for a webinar exploring this subject with leading experts Dr. Sally Augustin, environmental psychologist; Lida Lewis, interior designer; and Dr. Whitney Austin Gray, public health researcher. This dynamic discussion will analyze what challenges designers may tackle in future spaces and investigate the profession’s role in implementing change.

Other topics of note include:

  • Health & Wellness considerations while navigating through work in (limited) physical space and the virtual world
  • How the psychological impact of COVID-19 relates to spatial design and its effect on designers’ work
  • Should we rethink proxemics, i.e. personal space, in design projects?
  • What design strategies should practitioners address post-COVID?

Designers have an opportunity to join the greater COVID conversation and demonstrate the profession’s value through the development of healthy, innovative spaces. Learn how you can join the conversation in this webinar!
